Pinging Cisco 761 ISDN router over WAN

Hello,

I have 2 sites connected to each other via a non-Cisco VPN.

Site A

VPN router: 10.254.254.1

Cisco 761 ISDN router: 10.254.254.70

Site B

VPN router: 192.168.1.1

I can ping all PC's/printers in site B from site A and vice versa.

Only the Cisco 761 won't reply when I do a ping from site B.

(It will however respond on a ping from within site A)

The 761 probably does receive the "ping" but does not response accordingly.

Within the router telnet-session I can ping site A but not site B.

So I have made a routing:

set ip route dest 192.168.1.0/24 gate 10.254.254.1

but I still can't ping site B.

Could anyone give me some insights how to get this Cisco 761 to reply over my WAN?

TIA, Jem.

There could be a couple of issues. One is that you are not allowing the ISDN routers IP address to use the VPN tunnel, or two that your site B doesn't actually know where the ISDN router is. Try doing some traceroutes from B to the ISDN router and from the ISDN router to B. See where the traceroute stops and that will help you determine which side is having the routing problem.
