PIX 501 problem

Because PIX 501 has four build-in switch ports, one internal and one external ethernet port.

If I set the internal ethernet to be 192.168.1.1/24,

does it mean all the switch ports are in the same subnet 192.168.1.0/24 ?

If no, can I assign different IP addresses in these four switch ports ? If yes, can I assign these addresses in different subnet ?

e.g port 1: 192.168.1.0/24

port 2: 192.168.2.0/24

port 3: 192.168.3.0/24

port 4: 192.168.4.0/24

Re: PIX 501 problem

It’s a simple switch. It supports 1 VLAN that resides on the same internal subnet as the inside interface. It sounds like you need an inside router as well.
