PIX IN BETWEEN ABR and BACKBONE ROUTER

This is the existing setup..

The ABRs ethernet is conneted to the backbone thru an infrared. The same ethernet is used to connect to the LAN.

ABRs serial has some 10 frame relay remote connections.

PROPOSED SETUP;

A PIX firewall is to be installed between the ABR and the backbone router.

QUESTIONS;

1. Will there be any problem on this setup. I ask this because as far as i know, PIX doesnt speak OSPF.

2. If iam right in saying the above (no. 1), then how could I make the 2 routers exchanged their LSAs.

Thanks a lot.

Re: PIX IN BETWEEN ABR and BACKBONE ROUTER

If you can upgrade your software, to 6.3, PIX can be made to run OSPF. Most of the basic OSPF features are supported by the PIX.
