PoE Question

Hie All,

I am having 48 port 6148A-GE-45AF modules. I will be using these modules in 6513 and 6509 chassis. Customer has nortel IP phones.

The question is, can I connect nortel IP phones in all the 48 ports of this module to receive PoE.

I have considered following:

1. The module is 802.3af compliant

2. Only phase 2 nortel phones will support 802.3af and not phase 1

3. Since the phones are Nortel, power will not be negotiated and phone will always take 15.4W

Considering 802.3af comapliance, will all the 48 phones receive power at the same time.

From data sheet, this seems to be possible but just want to reconfirm as I have faced this issue with 3560s previously

yes, it will work for sure. Bydefault the ports will give 15.4 W on each ports. This module is fully complied with IEEE 802.3af POE standard.
