Policing (Rate limiting ) on C 3550

Hi, We are using policing command to control the bandwidth usage on Cisco C 3550 L3 Switch port. I am able to control one direction ( Ingress), but not other direction ( Egress). If we remove Ingress side and add Egress side, the command not shown in the configuration, no error while configuring. Please help me to ratelimit the bandwidth each port on both direction.

You cannot do both at the same time. It's either ingress or egress

i have tried, am not able to do in egress side. its accepting only ingress side. Can u guide me to apply egress side. thanks.
