Policy Routing Based on Source & Dest. IP?

Hello,

Is it possible to route a packet based on the source & destination IP address combination? I'm wondering if there's anything beyond routing based on source IP and/or protocol.

Thank you.

Re: Policy Routing Based on Source & Dest. IP?

Yes, you can do it using Policy routing. See for instance.

route-map Route permit 10

match ip add 101

set ip next-hop

route-map Route permit 10

int e0

ip policy route-map Route

access-list 101 permit ip host host

This setup will route all those packets which match accesslist 101 to as the next hop. ACL 101 matches both the source and dest ip of the packet.

Using policy routing, you can not only route, based on source and destination ip address, but also based on,

1. Length of the packet

2. Interface through which the packet came,

Hope that helps.
