I was just wondered if it is any way to do Policy Routing on Catalyst 4000. We have several C4000, some with L3 router blade, some with Sup-IV. I am able to create route-map, I am able to apply route-map to routing protocols. But I can not apply route-map to interfaces to do policy routing. I want to create policy, based on type of traffic (e.g. HTTP versus SMTP) to put them by separate ways. Interface command "ip policy" exists on all routers, it exists in Catalyst 6500 (MSFC), but does not in Cat-4000. Does anybody know the way to do that or it's just missing there?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
