port 1002(unasigned port)

how do we block this unasigned port...particularly port 1002..coz it shows on the vulnerability test that this is open

you can use extended access-list with denying traffic from/for (source/destination) port 1002 and in next line permit all the other tcp traffic.

But I need to know how to close this port, not just how to deny it. Currently right now I'm denying it thru access-list. I need to know how to close this port because it is not being used by my application or other services.
