Port based traffic analysis

Hi,

I know MRTG will give the total bandwidth utilisation of WAN links, but how is it possible to break down the total number of bytes send/received into protocol (trffic) types?

For example, when there is 180kbps being send, how much of that is Web/Telnet/etc/etc traffic?

Cheers,

G

NAM moduel/Probe along with any RMON app can give you this port based stats.

OK, we have a 7206 in the core with 90 WAN sites connected - I can't seem to find a NAM for the 7200. Anything else available for these?

There is no NAM for routers. Switch Probe is the alternative. OR have a look at: http://www.caida.org/tools/utilities/flowscan/

Actually, here's NM-NAM module for routers now. However, currently, it's only for 2600s, 3660s, and 3700s.

Cool, do you know if there will be one for the 7200 series?
