Port Channel using one port

Hi

is it possible to create a port channel using only one gbic port.

Please advice

Hi Mahmood,

Yes it is possible. But then WHY do you want to create a port channel if you want only one port to be a part of it?

It is as good as a nomral port with no load sharing and no redundancy.

Thanks ankur actually i was going through some configs at a site there i saw this but as u have said i am also not able to figure out why they have created a port channel using one port.

any ideas

Hi Mahmood,

Only option I can think of is that they might have configured some other port also in that port channel but might be that port is down or that card (modular switch) is out of the chassis.

Or might be thay have a future plan to configure more ports in that port channel.

But the port is on supervisor engine actally it is a cat6513.
