Under what circumstances should one expect to see a port with status "Connected" but show no cam table entry for the mac address of the machine connected to that port? I ran into this today with a machine that was connected and running a 9 hour job. Thanks.
If Layer-2 communication is not established between the switch port and the host, but Layer-1 communication is throucgh, the port status may be connected but there would be no entry in the CAM table. If there is any problem in the Driver for the NIC of host, this problem may appear.
