Hi Buddy,
please help me for the following commands on 3500 switches.
1. Port Protected
2. port security action shutdown or trap
3. port security max-mac-count
4. port storm-control brodcast action filter
need explation of this commands. Actually my requirment is to stop the flodding traffic on server farm port. and protect the purticular each and every server port.
please suggest me.

Hi Buddy,
Thanks for ur help...one more thing ...how can i monitor purticular port. i mean can i come to know that unknown multicast,unicast or brodcast packets are stop. is there any command.

The command "show port storm-control" shuld give you some info.
You can also use the "trap" option to generate SNMP traps,
but only for broadcast traffic.
Another thing, try reading the release notes for the version that
you are using. There might be some open caveats that has an impact
on your configurations.
