Portfast state: default, enabled, disabled

I recently noticed that out of the box catOS switches have a portfast state of "default". What exactly is this state "default" and how might it interact with bpduguard or other features? Thanks.

switchcore-sw1> (enable) sh spantree portfast 1/1

Portfast: Default

BPDU Filter: Default

BPDU Guard: Default

Global Portfast BPDU guard is disabled.

Global Portfast BPDU filter is disabled.

Here is example of a RJ port 10/100 port

SWITCHA-sw1 (enable) sh spantree portfast 2/9

Portfast: Default

BPDU Filter: Default

BPDU Guard: Enable

Global Portfast BPDU guard is disabled.

Default on catos boxes is that portfast is "not" enabled , you must manually enable it for user ports.Should not affect bpdu guard...

State of default means that it's going to use the global system parameter for the port. This is a quick way to enable the setting on all ports on the switch. If you set it on the port then it should reference as enabled, as in your 2/9 example.

Here is a doc reference BPDU Filter example
