Hi all,
I have got a Firewall that is doing intervlan routing (no dynamic routing involved). The connectivity is with 3 different interface into a 3550 switch (Just L2). Can I enable portfast on the switch interfaces?
I am not seeing any issue with this. Are you awareof some of them?
Any help is appreciated.\
Regards.

Hello Mateo,
the general rule is that portfast should only be enabled on ports that have endstations connected, not e.g. other switches.

Yes you can enable portfast on a connection to the firewall.
Portfast should not be enabled where you have the possibility of a layer 2 loop. Since firewalls are essentially layer 3 devices, a loop can not be formed if you enable portfast on a port connected to that device.
