Possible to rename VLAN ID ?

I am sure this question may have been asked but I didn't see anything when searching for it. Is it possible to rename the VLAN that I have created. What I mean by that is the ID. Example I have VLAN 5 but I want to Rename/Change it to VLAN 65 (the ID not the actual name) Keep all the ports on that VLAn but just changing vlan ID - I know you cannot rename VLAN 1.

Anyhow I dont think its possible but I want to ask. The switches in question are 3500 and 3750 series.

thanks

cannot re-ID a vlan...

you must create the new vlan65 and of course assign the appropriate ports to that new vlan.

good question!

Re: Possible to rename VLAN ID ?

Hi! How about delete the vlan and recreate it? I've this problem here. I got a physical interface that is configured for vlan routing, but i decided to clear that config and move it to the subinterface with dot1q encapsulation. I've tried doing that and it didn't work(host in that vlan can only ping themself and not even the gateway which is 10.10.9.254). I think that's because that vlan was previously created using native vlan on the physical interface. So the new subinterface is not able to trasmit the office vlan that's of native vlan.

I was thinking of detele the existing .9 office network vlan and recreate it. I'm using 2950 seris switch and 2621 router.

Thks.
