Possible to use router serial port with ISDN?

Hi there,

If I had a cisco 1720 router with a serial interface, would it be possible to connect this interface to an ISDN modem and BRI(s) and have it complete a call? Reason I ask is that the router with one serial interface would be cheaper than buying two BRI interfaces.

Thanks - Barry

This is no problem; configure the serial interface for standard DDR (just as you would an ISDN interface) and this will work fine. The ISDN TA will be responsible for Multilink PPP.
