PPP Multilink

Hello,

If i setup 2 routers via isdn for multilink i have two ways to do it, either with

the command ppp multilink, or at the other way whitout ppp multilink, just

one dialer map and dialer load-treshold.

My question, what is the difference between those two methods ?

I think without multilink, load-sharing is done instead of fragmentation with

multilink.

Thanks for comments

Louis

Re: PPP Multilink

YES..no ppp multilink..no link layer fragmentation..If no ppp multilink, all the additional calls will be treated as different layer 3 call (each link will negotiate new ip address)

While with multilink, additional link will be added to the bundle of first link. so at layer 3, all calls have same ip address (from source to destination) ..so fragmentation can be achived.
