PPP (PPPoE, PPTP and ISDN) clients IP addresses are almost static

Hi,

We are usung radius authentication with local IP pools. The problem is that every time users are getting the same IP addresses. IP addresses will be different after router reloading only. We want to prevent users to have (almost) static IPs. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks,

Val

An IP cache is maintained that ends up giving users the same IP address from past sessions, IF that address is available. This is useful in times when connections are pre-maturely disconnected, and the user connects back in and (hopefully) their upper layer applications may still progress. At any rate, if you want to reduce the

likelihood of the same address being given to a user, you should decrease this cache; this can be done with the command "ip local pool test cache-size".

Mark,

thank you very much.

What is the default cache-size and is "cache-size 0" means "no cache" or "no cache limit".

Thanks again,

Val
