PPP problem

Hi all,

I've a Cisco Router 1720 connected to a Cisco 5400 NAS via an E1.....The E1

is connected from one side to the Router's serial interface and from the

other side to the NAS controller E1 7/5

Router config

int s0

en ppp

ip add 172.31.19.161 255.255.255.252

NAS config

controller E1 7/5

framing NO-CRC4

channel-group 0 timeslots 1-31

interface Serial7/5:0

ip address 172.31.19.162 255.255.255.252

encapsulation ppp

The problem is that I've the controller E1 7/5 up and interface Serial7/5:0

up/up and the Router's s0 is also up/up but the ping fails on that

interface.

Can anyone suggest why the ping didn't work although L1 and L2 are up.

Regards,

Komy

It will not work.

One side Channelised E1 (NAS) other side unframed E1(serial at 1721)

You require either both the sides unframed/framed-channelised E1.

But how come that both sides are up/up which mean that both L1 and L2 are up....plz advise

Is there a TELCO provider inbetween Router and NAS.

Else are you using any CSU (modem) or directly connected ?

Can you paste the diagram of connectivity ?
