pppoe-configuration on ethernet-interfaces

Hi ,

is it possible to configure pppoe for dsl on a cisco3640 with a dual-ethernet-interface, or is a adsl-interface for the dsl-modem-connection needed?

Which software-release and feature is required to configure pppoe?

Thanks for an answer.

Re: pppoe-configuration on ethernet-interfaces

Hi,

it depends what kind of service your isp give you.

If your isp give you modem. The most modem working in bridging mode. You only need an ethernet interface to make pppoe connection.

pppoe-client is supported on 3640 from 12.2(2)T
