Priviledge levels in Cat6009

Dear Switching Experts,

Ok, I have a 6009 I need to configure for different levels of administration to various folks. I want to configure the different login levels (similiar to IOS). Right now I can only configure a level 0 or level 15. The Cat is running CatOs 8.2.x. I would like to configure some specific local login names (it's an offline lab switch) to some administrators so they can assign ports to vlans, change duplex and speed, etc.

I know on a router I can configure it like the following. How do I do this same type of config on a Cat?

Thanks in advance.

Step 1

Router(config)# privilege mode level level command Set the privilege level for a command.

Step 2

Router(config)# enable password level level [encryption-type] password Specify the enable password for a privilege level.

Step 3

Router(config-line)# privilege level level Change the default privilege level for the line.

Re: Priviledge levels in Cat6009

Hi,

AFAIK, priviledge levels are not supported in CatOS.

Only user and enable modes.

Regards,

Milan
