Problem booting MSFC2 from sup-slot0:

syancy
Level 1
Level 1

I am having difficulty booting my MSFC2 card(s) from sup-slot0:

I have verified that the image is on the flash card.

Here is my boot statement on one of the cards:

boot system flash sup-slot0:c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-19.E.bin

boot system flash bootflash:c6msfc2-is-mzs.121-2.E

boot bootldr c6msfc2-boot-mz.121-2.E.bin

Any help is appreciated...

We had few bugs due to which a MSFC would not boot off slot0: with older bootldr. I suggest that you download 121-19.E bootldr and give it a shot

Alternatively, you could do the following..See the following thread

http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.ee9c4c4

I added the updated bootldr as requested:

#boot bootldr bootflash:c6msfc2-boot-mz.121-19.E.bin

When I reload I get the follwing error:

SYS-6-READ_BOOTFILE_FAIL: sup-slot0:c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-19.E.bin No usable inter

faces.

%SYS-6-BOOT_MESSAGES: Messages above this line are from the boot loader.

Self decompressing the image : #########################

Do you have any VLAN interfaces configured on the MSFC? If not create a VLAN interface (same VLAN as your switch's Sc0 interface), assign it an IP address and then try again.

where can I find the download URL for 121-19.E bootldr ? I am going from c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-2.E.bin (MSFC2) and c6msfc-jsv-mz.121-2.E.bin (MSFC1)

and I might need to upgrade my bootldr but I can not find the download on the Cisco software page.

thanks
