Problem consoling to 1924 switches.

With my laptop's Hyperterm configed for COM1:9600,8,N,1 I can console into every Cisco device in the world - except for some 1924 switches. When I hit enter to connect 'ATQ0Z0' displays on the screen and nothing further happens. I move the blue flat console cable (the one that is shipped with cisco devices)over to a 2621 router, a 2500 switch, a 3550 switch and can console into these devices just fine. I've switched to other blue flat cables with the same results.

Is there something with the 1924s that cause this grief?

Are you sure Hardware Flow control is off in Hyperterm? Got me before.

Use a straight cable with a null modem connector on one end . A straight cable with or without a null will get you into almost all cisco gear .
