Problem in Redistribution of RIP and IGRP

Hi,

I have four routers(say R1-2610, R2-2610, R3-2504 and R4-1600) connected as following...

------------------R1

| \

H \

U \

B R2------

| /

| /

---R4------------R3-/

R1 -->(s0/1)(192.30.30.0)(s0/0)--> R2

R1 -->(e0/0)(192.20.20.0)(e0) --> R4

R2 -->(s0/1)(192.40.40.0)(s0) --> R3

R2 -->(e0/0)(192.10.10.1)

R3 -->(s1)(192.50.50.0)(s0) --> R4

The ip addresses are as following :

R1(s0/1) --> 192.30.30.2

R1(e0/0) --> 192.20.20.1

R2(s0/0) --> 192.30.30.1

R2(s0/1) --> 192.40.40.1

R2(e0/0) --> 192.10.10.1

R3(s0) --> 192.40.40.2

R3(s1) --> 192.50.50.2

R4(s0) --> 192.50.50.1

R4(e0) --> 192.20.20.2

The configuration on various routers are as following :

For R1-2610

network added under rip

192.20.20.0

network added under igrp

192.30.30.0

For R2-2610

network added under rip

192.10.10.0

192.40.40.0

network added under igrp

192.30.30.0

For R3-2504

network added under rip

192.40.40.0

network added under igrp

192.50.50.0

For R4-1600

network added under rip

192.20.20.0

network added under igrp

192.50.50.0

The rip and igrp are redistributed at each router with each other.

All the four routers are getting routes to all five networks(192.10.10.0 to 192.50.50.0) except Router R4 is not getting the route 192.10.10.0

After debugging RIP and IGRP, I saw that even R1 and R3 have valid route of 192.10.10.0 but they are passing the information of this route to R4 with infinite metric. why is it so?

Thanks for the kind help,

Vikas

Re: Problem in Redistribution of RIP and IGRP

The diagram is not coming properly, I try to explain that diagram in words...

The s0/1 port of R1 is connected to s0/0 port of R2.

e0/0 port of R1 is connected to e0 port of R4, through Hub.

The s0/1 port of R2 is connected to s0 port of R3.

The s1 port of R3 is connected to s0 port of R4.

Thanks,

Vikas

MAke certain you have default metrics configured. Other than this, the diagram is too difficult to get to suggest much more.
