Problem on Subinterface Monitoring through SNMP

Dear all,

After the VLAN encapsulation of my network change from ISL to 802.1q, there is a problem occur related to SNMP. Before the change, I can see the subinterfaces in the SNMP MIB table, through the tools like MRTG and snmpwalk. But after such change, the monitoring of subinterfaces does not work.

I am not sure if it is related to the VLAN encapsulation protocol, but this should be the only thing I have changed in the router.

I even did not try to roll back the original config, because I cannot arrange for a downtime until now.

Can anyone tell me what is happening?

Regards,

Hakkan Lui

Looking at the following URL, you may be running into a software glitch. http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/faq-snmpios.shtml#Q15
