do you see the ip address in the arp table form the router ?
How many nic´s have the server ?
the ping is send form the same subnet like the Server ?

There is only 1 NIC that is Gigabit card, is this some thing to do with QoS, enabled either on the switches, server or on the clients,....

under normal circumstances ( no heavy load and so on ) QOS is not a problem.
Is the G-Bit NIC configured as a dot1q Trunk or as a normal Access Port .
If you can not ping the NIC can you see the Mac Address from the Server in the Router ARP cache ?
please answer my other questions in the previous Mail.
maybe it is a Configuration Problem on the Server ?
