I have had dfm e-mail us about network events for about a month now. I modified the mail_notifier.conf file so that it sends more specific e-mails. This has been working great until yesterday when it suddenly stopped. No changes have been made to the server so I am not sure why it quit. I cant seem to get the dfmMailNotify service to start back up. I try and start it under process status but it says "Administrator shut down this server". Anyone else have this same issue? CiscoWorks is installed on WIndows 2000 Pro SP4. DFM version 1.2.

Double-check the contents of mail_notifier.conf
(Try restoring the original one for test purposes).

Hi,
try the following in a DOS Box:
(the second command is one line):
# NMSROOT/bin/pdcmd -u DfmMailNotifier
# NMSROOT/bin/pdcmd -r DfmMailNotifier -d DfmServer -e NMSROOT/objects/smarts/ bin/sm_notify -f "--adapter=mail --output=sm_mail_notifier"
the first unregister the MailNotifier the second should reregister it; if the second fails, retry it from the GUI.
regards,
Martin
