Help !!

New switch - new native IOS!!

I have configured the basics ( after working out a router interface is the management LAN !! ).

My router has a vlan1 and vlan2 interface configured and I am running a routing process ( OSPF ) . Both Vlan's show up , line protocol is down.

It looks like I do not have layer 2 enabled, no matter what I do as regards other options spanning tree etc I can still not get these interfaces up ( also slightly confused how to put say a fastethernet port into a specific vlan !! )

Do I have to enable something on the supervisor engine to get layer 2 up ?

any advice appreciated!!

Hmm - it would seem if I add a device that actually exista in the vlan then the router interface comes up,,, i.e - Ip address Vlan 1 10.0.96.1 - if I add a host 10.0.96.2 on an etrhernet port on the switch then the vlan line protocol comes up? Why !!! ?
