Problems on direct connection AUI to AUI ethernet ports

I have tried to connect directly two AUI ports of a 2514 router using a recommended cable (pins 3-5, 5-3, 10-12, 12-10; and 6 - 9 on each side).

But the ethernet interfaces goes up and immediately down, this process is repeated continuously after a few seconds. The message reason is "No Carrier".

Is there a special configuration to this port?

Is there someone, which have experience in this kind of connection?

Looks like you have a problem with the cable. Keep in mind that this is a back-to-back connection and thus you have to make a cross-over cable (connect tx on one side to the rx on the other side). Pinout for standard AUI cable:
