problems with WS-X4506-GB-T

Hi all,

I've got a cisco Catalyst 4507R with a supervisor engine V.

In this chassis, I've got a WS-X4506-GB-T card. This card contains 6 that can be SFP or 10/100/1000 RJ45V.

When I connect a SFP with a fiber link, there is no link. I try to connect in every ports, and I have no link. I try to connect to the RJ45 port with my laptop, and there is no link as well.

If I check the module with the "show module" command, it appears as "ok".

The ios version of the switch is 12.2(25)EWA3.

If I connect the fiber link on the GBIC on the supervisor port, it works. So the problem is not on the fiber.

Can you help me with any idea?

which transceiver module are you using ? The following are supported on the WS-X4506-GB-T:

GLC-SX-MM, -LH-SM, -ZX-SM

GLC-BX-D, GLC-BX-U

I am using a GLC-LH-SM transceiver module.

If this card works the way the ports on the supervisors do on the 6500's then you may have to select which interface to use in the config before you will get a link light or active port , i would check out your options in the config .
