process cpu

Hi!

I´m using MRTG to look at the CPU and traffic utilization...

There is no much traffic, but the CPU sometimes are almost in 100% .. for one hour

[# show proc cpu] shows me that IP INPUT are using 59% ..

Compress stac is enabled (normal CPU utilization is 50%-60%)

? how can I know who(IP) is talking to router to keep this CPU so high ?

Thanks

Andrei.

Re: process cpu

A safe way to find who is sending packets to the router is use a network analyzer and capture the packets. Ofcourse you can use 'debug ip packet' on the router and then redirect the output to a syslog server or a vty terminal, but you need to be careful as it could bring down the router if there is too much load.
