The management port is used for disaster recovery. If you delete all IOS images and if you do not have a flash card, you can use management interface to recover the supervisor. This port is not active when the supervisor is up and running and can only be accessed in rommon

HI thank you before,

Hm....is it only for disaster recovery? No other purpose? Also have try to configure the L3 Vlan Routing. I have create a vlan called 2. I cannot ping the interface from the C4503(the shor interface vlan 2 show me that the interface and protocol down/down) but I can ping from the workstation.

Any suggestion?

THank you for your quick response

HATO

For the layer three VLAN2 interface to be up/up, you need to have some device in VLAN 2.
