I have 4 remote routers configured to point back to DLCI 16 and I need to move them to the new T1 , dlci 17. It is a Hub\spoke frame relay and the PVC never become active...they stay in inactive state...I confirmed that I am sending\Rec. LMI, the Main S0/0 interface is UP\UP...the service provider says it is in my configuration...I have the frame-relay Interface-dlci command set on both ends of each PVC...any help would be appreciated. Thanks
the problem is on the remote end , more than likely the PVC state is deleted , either the interface is admin down or the FR switch on the remote end is not advertising the DLCI that you have configured , turn on debug frame lmi on this router , every 30 or 60 sec you will see the switch advertising all the DLCI 's
No, he said its inactive not deleted. Is that correct? A show fra pvc says the pvc is inactive? Then the problem may be at the hub end. I assume you are using the same local loop at the remotes and a new t1 loop at the hub. The carrier should be able to just add the new pvc so that both old and new show up on the remote end and they could be active at the same time if you use different serial ips. Makes for an easy transition. If you are doing that does the sho frame pvc show both pvcs? What does a show frame pvc show on the t1 end?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
