I am in the midst of coming up with a plan for an entirely new infrastructure for our new office. WE have decided to run with 6509's in each of the closets as access switches and 4x6509's in the data center.
In the past I have used HSRP and Rapid spanning tree for load balancing and redundancy. I now see that this GLBP seems to be the way to go. My question is:
1) With GLBP do I still need spanning tree or should it be turned off?
2) Should I use EIGRP as well???
3) I am going to need to create multiple vlans to divide areas of work up. Do I still do that with VTP or should I create the vlans in each of the closets separately. It has been suggested to me that the latter is the way to go.
Also the network will consist of voip and wireless both of which will require seamless mobility throughout the office
