I have a Cisco 4006 running ver 6.3(3)
When i connect a PC and server to two ports on the same module they can talking using PXE - i.e. the PC boots, uses PXE to pick up its IP address then boots its profile
When the PC and server are connected to ports on different modules they cant talk - i.e. PC does not boot.
I have protocolfiltering disabled on the switch.
Any ideas ?

MORE INFORMATION:
The Server is plugged into a 10/100/1000 Ethernet WS-X4424-GB-RJ45
The client does work if i plug it into one of the 10/100BaseTx Ethernet WS-X4148-RJ cards
The PXE boot does NOT work if I plug my client into
Inline Power Module WS-X4148-RJ45V card

Of course I assume that you checked things like ports are enabled etc .. Also verify that all your ports are in the same vlan , if not then you need a router to talk between the 2 different vlans .

We only have 1 Vlan as its a small site and all ports are in that Vlan.
Also we have two PXE / RIS servers - every PC connected into card 1 of the switch can only see 1 server and every PC on card 2 of the server can only see the other server.
If you plug the PC into the 3rd card (inline power) it sees nothing BUT
If you plug the PC into the same card as the servers then it sees both.
Dazed and confused :o))

I have the same problem when I use PXE on Catalyst 6000.
When the client and the PXE server are on the same VLAN, the client get
an IP adresse but when I mode the PXE server to another VLAN and use the
'ip helper-adress' the client fail to get an ip adress.
I'm going to do some tracing tomorrow to see what's going on.
