Q: how to configure an 804 router for IDSL

I need help configureing an 804 IDSL router for use with Covad IDSL from Speakeasy. This is not the router supported by Speakeasy, so I'm on my own to configure it. The fast step software seems to be geared toward ISDN (asking for connection phone numbers, etc), so I don't think it will work for IDSL. Here is the information I have been given from Speakeasy so far:

router "LAN-side" IP address

router "WAN-side" IP address

range of IPs I have been assigned for my machines

use frame-relay

Can someone provide a very basic IDSL configuration? No DHCP, no NAT, just the most basic connectivity to use as a starting point. The sample configuration I found on the Cisco site has an "unnumbered IP" on the BRI0 interface, which I don't believe is appropriate for my situation.

Here is the couple of links which will help you to configure the 804 for IDSL.

For config of 804

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/794/804idsl_dhcp_unnum.html

For config and troubleshooting

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/794/802804_idsl.html

Thanks..Tejal

Can I use the "Fast Step" configuration software, or is it for ISDN only?

What about ConfigMaker?

The first example show the BRI0 interface as "unnumbered" - I have been assigned a static IP for it.

The second example has the BRI0 interface being assigned an IP dynamically, and it has DHCP and NAT.

Also, I don't know what my router is connecting to on the Speakeasy side - do I need to know?

All I want is the most basic config for an 804 IDSL to use as a starting point. I have been given a static IP for the outside interface, and a static IP for the ethernet interface.

You can configure the static ip address and mask for both the (bri and ethernet) provided by isp.. Do not configure NAT and DHCP if you don't need to...Tejal

What is wrong with this config? I can ping the Ethernet interface from my PC, but not the BRI0 interface, nor the DNS IPs:
