Hello all,
when QoS is applied on a WAN line, is there an explicit need to priorize routing protocols (e.g. eigrp sent to priority queue) or is vital system communication implicitely treated with high priority without dedicated configuration ?
Are there any experiences ?
Thanks, Wolfgang

Just came across this link. I haven't read it yet, so I can't say how helpful it will be...Good luck!

By default the available bandwith is the 75% bandwith of the bandwidth configured on the interface. If your interface bandwidth is 2 Mbps , Your available bandwidth will be 2x 0.75 = 1.5 Mbps. The rest is dedicated to traffic like keepalives, routing updates,CDP, etc
So when you apply QoS, you will be using the 75% bandwidth for your data like Voice, video, etc
To change the Available bandwidth use the command on the interface : max-reserved-bandwidth xx
