Hi there,
On a Cat 6509 with Sup 1A and MSFC with a FlexWAN module, do I need to remap the L3 ToS settings back to CoS for delay sensitive traffic coming off the WAN say onto a VLAN? If so how do I do this? I know that the 6509 internal architecture relies on an internal DSCP value. Is this mapped straight from the ToS in an IP packet from the FlexWAN as the traffic hits the switch fabric? I know that when traffic comes from a LAN interface you can use either the current CoS traffic or TOS fields to map across to the internal DSCP value.
The reason I ask this is traditionally on router to switch connections you need to remap the ToS back to CoS and I am curious how the MSFC handles this.
Thanks
Jim

How does MSFC handle this? It doesn't. Any traffic that comes from the MSFC and hence the Flexwan module, COS is set to 0. And it is not configurable, at least upto 6.3. I would imagined it is handled the same with 7.x code as well since it is PFC that marks the COS field.
