QoS policy to access Internet

The access to Internet from our company is ensure by a proxy server connected to a Cisco 3640 router. This router has directly connectivity to our ISP through 100Mbps link, but from the ISP our bandwidth is limited on 4 Mbps.

How can I configure QoS policy on Cisco 3640 FastEthernet interface to the ISP, in order to allocate for mail high precedence and 20% bandwidth from 4 Mbps, and for HTTP 60% from the bandwidth?

It is a strong request to have this policy aplied on Cisco 3640 router.

Thanks in advance for your help

Re: QoS policy to access Internet

Hello,

you could use classes to define the traffic and then assign a policy to your 3640. It would look something like this:

class-map match-all http

match access-group 101

class-map match-all smtp

match access-group 102

!

policy-map SMTPandWWW

class http

bandwidth percent 60

class smtp

bandwidth percent 20

!

access-list 101 permit tcp any any eq www

access-list 102 permit tcp any any eq smtp

!

interface serial0 (or FastEthernet0/0)

service-policy output SMTPandWWW

!

Regards,

Georg
