I put all our routers into RME with a file which I loaded as a csv file with no problem. The import used a host file on the server and I used the host name of the router. I have recently started synchronizing campus manager with RME and now have discovered that campus manager wants to pass the routers to RME using fully qualified domain names
I imported RBMYTOWN01
Campus manager passed rbmytown01.domain.com back to RME and it shows up as an alias.
I want to only use the host name in RME and Campus Manager. Is there a method when we are using DNS rather than a host file, or do most people use fully qualified names?
My problem stems from looking at a topology map which gets considerably more cluttered with the fully qualified name.
