Question regarding CW2K DFM --trap forwarding

Hi all,

As it said, DFM --trap forwarding just pass traps to another NMS, and no process. So if I want to apply ACLs on NMS for snmptrap, what's the source address? devices who send out traps, or cw2k server which forwards traps?

thanks,

David

It should be the devices who send out traps that are used as source addresses.

Should be. This is not the case at least when you forward traps from DFM to NNM. In order to solve this you need http://www.logec.com/nnm/doco/CiscoMessage.html.

Thanks guys. I'll put a Sniffer to check and make sure.

For Logec, it seems I finished some same job what Logec does. I set "trap notifier" to NNM from DFM, and filter out the source address on NNM when I defined some templates to put the messages under exactly network devices.
