Radius base QOS for LNS

I'm trying to come up with the best way to apply shaping / policing on a per-user basis on an LNS.

Basically, when a user's traffic exceeds a particular value, I want Radius to send appropriate shaping / policing commands to be applied to relevant virtual-access interface when they log in. I believe that this is achievable with some scripting on the Radius back end.

My problem lies in the fact that there appears to be no way to enforce this new policing or shaping policy without forcing the user to disconnect and re-login (using a session timeout), so the the relevant radius parameters can be downloaded to the LNS.

Is there a better way? Can the LNS periodically poll a radius server for an update to see if parameters have changed? Is forcing a user disconnect the only way?

Any other ideas?

You can implement the QoS information when the user connects for the first time itself, Then use Policing or Commited Access Rate, which will be evoked only when the particular condition is met. More details are given in the document

I'm actually looking for a way to get the LNS to receive an update from the Radius server, without forcing a disconnect.
