Rate limiting an Interface with Subinterfaces

I need to impose a rate limitation across an entire ATM interface so that all of the subinterfaces share the available bandwidth. The subinterfaces each have a PVC associated with them and the interface itself has no PVC's or IP configuration.

Can I use the rate-limit command at the interface level to accomplish this?

Re: Rate limiting an Interface with Subinterfaces

Configure your ATM PVC's as VBR-NRT or VBR-RT. Then you can specify the peak speed in terms of Kbps that the PVC can operate at. Much easier and cleaner than rate-limiting.

Re: Rate limiting an Interface with Subinterfaces

You can use per-vc CBWFQ to achieve that

or you refer whole IP to ATM COS section of tech tips
