Recommendation for best placement of RAS/VPN on network

Hello and thanks for reading this post.

We recently obtained a 2611XM router with NM-16AM and I have successfully configured it for dial in and out, but have not put it into production yet.

My understanding is that this router can support VPN. My question is, where is the best place to locate this router on our network if it is going to offer dial access and VPN services?

Any comments and suggestion would be most appreciated.

It doesn't really matter where it's located in the network....it will act as the edge device for the dialup users, ie, The router will do the job of an access server & vpn termination device.

When you say location in the network do you mean with the routing prespective in mind?

Thanks, Mak.
