Recommendation V.8 for the cable modems

I have some questions about V.8 Recommendation.

I monitor the progress of the modems connect. I can get demodulated data and

signals from the line, and I try to get signals and data from hardware

modem(USRobotics Courier V.Everthing) according Recommendation V.8. I get CI-sequence (if

AT S54.6=0), then I send ANSam tone, but that modem doesn't send to me

CM-sequence. When I send CM to it, I don't receive anythinng.

Can somebody help me?
