Recommended Configuration For UDLD Aggressive Mode

I have point-to-point links in my LAN between Distribution and Access layer switches and want to enable UniDirectional Link Detection (UDLD) aggressive mode.

Do I need to enable it on both ends or just one? If just one, should it be the Distribution or Access layer switch?

UDLD aggressive mode will only

work if enabled on both sides of

the connection. UDLD aggressive

mode is a highly-recommended

feature as it prevents Spanning Tree

Protocol (STP) problems and other

failures. All connections between

switches should have this feature

enabled.
