Hi,
I am tring to find some ways to introduce storm control to a network. I would like to reduce the likely hood of a device causing a broadcast storm to the entire network. On some Cisco switches you can use the storm-control context to control broadcast, unicast, and multicast messges on a per port basis. Is there a way to perform a similar function from the switch as a whole, or maybe from one of the routers up-stream? Are there other options available?
Thanks in advance.

Best way to control broadcast is to have VLANs configured properly, then applying rate-limiting to some of the ports connected . check this link for details

Just remember, routers by default do not forward broadcasts.
