Redundant 4507R linking to 4506's on 4 floors - Spanning tree config?

I have 2 4507R's with 2 GBIC uplinks etherchannled together to create one logical link.

Each 4507 has a connection to each of the 4 floors.

However I want the first 2 floors t pass traffic to the right 4507R and if the links fails to passs traffic to the left 4507R and visa-versa.

What would some configs look like to take care of this?

I put on the 1st 4507R

spanning-tree root 2,4,9 primary

spanning-tree root 3,5,411 secondary

and the opposte on the 2nd 4507R

What would some commands look like to make this happen?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

I also have trouble with DHCP not pulling from correct DHCP pool.

Here are a few links that would give you an idea on the configuration required. EtherChannel Load Balancing and Redundancy on Catalyst Switches

As far as the commands are concerned, it would depend on the version of IOS/CatOS that you are running on the switch. Refer to the Command reference of the appropriate version in the documentation given below.

Root path cost is the cumulative cost of all links to the root bridge. Considering that STP costs are incremented as BPDU's are received on a port, not as they are sent out a port, you could try increasing the port cost at the ingress ports on your 4506's to something higher than the default. For example, you want the link from the 2nd floor 4506 (G1/1) to the right 4507 to be the one forwarding traffic, and the link from the 2nd floor 4506 (G1/2) to the left 4507 to be in blocking mode. Increase the PVST cost of the 2nd floor port (G1/2) that uplinks to the left 4507 to something higher than the default:

spanning-tree cost 6
