Good Morning ALL,
I am thinking to increase my level of redundancy in my networkk using all the available Ethernet/Fast ethernet interface in the router used as default gateway from the LAN in the remote site (in an Hub and spoke configuration).
My problem is: How can I connect both ethernet interface of the router to the switch ports in the same LAN? I need one Logical interface and two physical interfaces under it.
I need something like Fastethernet Channel (FEC, but it is not available on routers (2600,3600 and 7200).
I do not want used Spanning Tree because in case of flapping the transition time is too long (45 sec).
Can you help me?
Thanks

Hi,
Go for HSRP. And what you want exactly, redundancy or FEC?
For your information only, we can make STP transitions to very less time through commands.

Thanks,
I cannot use HSRP on the same router.
The point is the fail over of the interfaces.
Etherchannel (FEC) provide this type of redundancy.
Is there any command to enabled fast transition with the bridge configured on the interfaces?
I cannot use portfast because it create Loop.

What you need is Hot Standby Routing Protocol. But it uses two routers, not two interfaces on the same router. Not much point in using two interfaces on the same router.

Thanks,
As you already said I cannot use HSRP on the same router.
The point is the fail over of the interfaces.
Do you know any method to have this?
