Regarding 7206vxr routre

                   HI , can anyone tell how many Gigabit port will be supported by Cisco 7206VXR with G1 engine model. By deault we hot 3 GE, is it possible to add additional Gigabit ports with the existing hardware. Please clarify.

You can add a PA-GE, but it will not have good performances like the embedded itnerfaces, so it's not advisable to do that.

Hi paolo, thanks for the reply, I need some more clarification, Apart from 3 embeded GE ports, how many we can add if we want. In case if we add how it will degrade the performance or any cause bcz of that.

If you need that much gigabit, I would suggest a better router.Based on my own experience effective throughput on a Gig interface tops out around 800Mb.
